The Urgent Action Sister Funds are feminist funds that protect, strengthen and sustain women and transgender human rights defenders at critical moments. The four sister funds wanted to create a microsite to reflect their principles, combined vision and work over the last twenty-three years.
I was asked to source stock photographs that would represent some of the various communities the funds have worked with. I suggested an illustrative intervention to the photographs, in order to bring in the sister funds’ principles of experimentation and diversity to the images.
The idea was to work with the sister funds’ brand colour palette to visualise moments of strength, autonomy, protest, collective reflection and collaboration through the illustrated photographs.
