For the first time in its history, the Creative Commons Global Summit was held virtually. As part of the Summit, Alison Pearce, Events and Operations Manager, led two sessions asking the question: how can a land acknowledgement be pivoted to reflect a global virtual event.
Through the open discussion, participants explored ideas of colonialism, power dynamics and biases while attempting to visualise a global land acknowledgement for use in virtual spaces.
I graphic recorded the sessions live and shared peeks of my progress while creating them on Twitter here and here.
